Abingdon Vineyard and Winery is located at the intersection of the South
Holston River and a stream trickling through our property.
  Our 10 acre / 6000 plant vineyard has 15 different grape varieties. 
Our tasting room, patio and picnic tables are a beautiful spot
to relax, enjoy your friends, drink our wines, and eat your own picnic
or purchase cheese and crackers from us.  We have 23
different wines for tasting and sales ranging from dry through very sweet
in reds, whites and blushes.  We are only one half mile off
the Virginia Creeper Trail and Alvarado Bridge junction.

The Arts Depot is a non-profit, art gallery with working artist studios.
Eight yearly exhibitions feature regional artists. 
Each August the Arts Depot hosts the Virginia Highlands Festival
Juried Fine Art Show.  Resident artists work in a wide
range of media including watercolor, weaving, ceramics and acrylics. 
Their studios are open to visitors and the artists
are pleased to discuss their work.  Housed in a 19th Century Freight Station,
the Arts Depot is located in Abingdon at 314 Depot Square.

View the architecture, period furnishings and a regional

The Harry L. Coomes Recreation Center is a service facility
for the entire community. The facility has both indoor
and outdoor pools, a regulation basketball court, indoor walking track,
tennis courts, Nautilus and cardiovascular
exercise rooms, and picnic/playground areas on site.
In addition, meeting rooms for banquets, parties and
conferences are available for rent as are pools, gym and courts.

Founded in 1936 for the purpose of cataloging and preserving
items relating to local and regional history, the
Historical Society of Washington County, Virginia currently has
more than 800 members in 38 states.  We provide
a leading center in the region for genealogical and historical research,
including local and regional history,
published genealogies and family histories; library resources
indexed on a computerized database that currently
contains over 638,000 references; and a library staffed by volunteers.

Library resources include:  Census data for Washington County
and nearby counties in Virginia, Tennessee and
North Carolina; cemetery records covering 538
cemeteries in Washington County, Virginia; marriage records
from 1783-1902; more than 1,100 family files and 300 family genealogy books;
and an indexed collection of over 1,800 photographs.

The Moonlite is a drive-in theatre. The Moonlite is also one of 3 drive-in theatres in the entire coutnry listed on the Registry of Historic Landmarks. We show 2 movies each night during the summer months & weekends for
Spring and Fall. 
Admission:  Adults - ages 12 and up $5 each;
children under 11 are admitted free of charge when accompanied by a parent of guardian. We also show
1st run (New) movies.  Listen to the movies on radio sound - 87.9FM
Showing rain or shine, but not in the event of a lightning storm.  The Moonlite Drive-in Theatre has been in operation from 1949 - Present. Concession stand has food, drinks, popcorn,

The Star Museum

Star Museum showcases The Weisfeld Collection, one of the east coast’s great archives, spanning
over a century. Located within Abingdon’s Historic District, the museum’s rotating collection contains
one-of-a-kind pieces, some from the personal estates of celebrities;
others used in film, theatre, concert or television performance.
Most of the ‘greatest,’ highly collectible names are present: Gable, Garland, Monroe,
Dean, Presley, et. al. Autographed memorabilia and original art complete the dazzling effect.
The museum is in walking distance of Barter Theatre
and The Tavern, offering fine dining and libations.
Regular hours are Wed-Sat.,10-4; but visitors are encouraged
to schedule guided tours, day or evening, by appointment.

The historical Sinking Springs Cemetery is located 3 blocks
west of the Martha Washington Inn and contains
